Back in the day, you needed a multi-thousand dollar piece of equipment and a dedicated darkroom to be considered a true photographer. At the very least, you had to first frame up your shots by holding your thumbs and forefingers in a rectangle , like a true artiste. It was, honestly, a hassle, and it alienated amateurs who couldn’t even manage to work with semi-complicated cameras.

But then came the smartphone, democratizing photography forever. No longer were non-proffesionals doomed to wield disposable cameras or lacklustre lenses. Suddenly, we had an impressive photographic monster in our pockets.

As a result, we now live in a age where people don’t fully appreciate the differences between certain phone cameras( the front and back cameras).

So, what is a megapixel?

Whenever a new phone is launched to much fanfare, you’ll hear the makers brag about the megapixels (or MPs) of its cameras. But whether that number is ‘8’ or ‘800’, it won’t mean a damn thing if you don’t appreciate what a ‘pixel’ even is.

Basically, every digital picture is made up of tiny little dots, and the smallest of these physical points is called a pixel.If you have a low-resolution image, that means it’s made up of only a few pixels, and probably isn’t very crisp. You can tell when you start to zoom in and the pic gets blurry.

A ‘megapixel’ represents one million pixels. So, if a phone camera is 8MP, that means it’s pictures contain eight million pixels, and will remain decent quality as you zoom in further. In short, more the pixels better the image.

That sounds cool, but I still have questions. Like,which lens should I use?

Cameras weren’t always on the front of phones, but they were eventually added for the ease of regular selfie-taker. However, many wondered why their front-facing selfies were worse quality ( even if they were better framed ). That’s because the front of the phone couldn’t fit a powerful camera while also keeping the screen flat, so the front lens had to settle for being slightly less powerful than the lens ( or lenses) on the back.

Like for example in the case of the new Samsung S20, the front camera is still an excellent 10MP, while the three rear cameras are 12MP,12MP and 64MP ( that’s the telephoto lens).And don’t forget that the Ultra has that 108MP lens on the back too. But now, with serious problems like mass industrialization, increasing levels of pollution, overpopulation,etc, many around the world are questioning their dietary habits. Industrial production of meat also has damaging environmental effects. These issues have caused many to switch to a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle for ethical and health reasons.

Impossible Foods,Inc is a company that came into the limelight a few years ago. They’ve become known for their wide range of vegan products. But their biggest hit till date is the Impossible Burger. A very common complaint about veggie burgers is that they don’t have the same texture as meat. But scientists at Impossible Foods wanted the sensory experience of eating an Impossible Burger to be identical to eating a normal hamburger. So, they investigated the properties of proteins in meat and looked for plant proteins with those same properties. Meat patties are broken down to the molecular level, and the scent of the aromatic molecules are recorded. A specific combination of these molecules creates the smell and flavor of meat, which can be replicated to make fake meat.

The secret ingredient to all this? A complex molecule called Heme, that is carried by haemoglobin in animal blood, but is also found naturally in plants.Impossible Foods sources its heme from soy leghemoglobin, found in the root nodules of soy plants. However, to source large quantities of leghemoglobin from these plants is impractical, so Impossible Foods found an alternative method of obtaining heme: genetic engineering.The DNA that codes for leghemoglobin is extracted from soy nodules and transferred to yeast, forming a genetically-modified yeast cell. These yeast cells will then undergo fermentation to produce leghemoglobin en masse. The heme produced are chemically identical to natural heme.

People who have tasted the Impossible Burger say that they did not realize it wasn’t meat. They couldn’t tell the difference. Large fast food chains like Burger King and Red Robin have already started to introduce Impossible Burgers into their menus. It is starting to become very popular,not just among vegans and vegetarians, but also among people just wanting to switch to a healthier, cruelty free diet without compromising on taste.

This is only the beginning of a new era of high-tech, genetically engineered foods. Because if we want to feed a rapidly expanding species while preseving our natural resources and coexisting with other species, we have to improvise our food manufacturing and consumption system.

Gliese 832c (also known as GI 832c or GJ 832c) is an extrasolar planet located approximately 16 light years away in the constellation of Grus, orbiting the star Gliese832, a red dwarf.

The planet, GJ832c, has a mass at least five times that of Earth.It is among the top three most Earth-like exoplanets ever discovered. The “super-Earth” planet, Gj832c, takes 16days to orbit its red-dwarf star,Gj832.

It receives about the same average stellar energy as Earth does, because red dwarfs shine more dimly than our Sun, and may have similar temperatures to our planet.

These characteristics put it among the top three most Earth-like planets, according to the Earth Similarity Index developed by scientists at the University of Puerto Rica in Arecibo.

Their data were combined with observations from the 6.5m Mangellan Telescope and the European Southern Observatory 3.6m Telescope (both in Chile) to make this new discovery.

On the Earth Similarity Index, or ESI, the highest ranking exoplanet is Gliese 667C c, which is about 23 light years away. It has an ESI of 0.84 compared to Earth’s maximum score of 1.0.

Next on the list is Kepler-62 e with an ESI of 0.83, although it is much further away – about 1,200 light years distant. And the new planet- the closest at just 16 light years away- comes in third with an ESI of 0.81.

“However, given the large mass of the planet, it seems likely that it would possess a massive atmosphere, which may well render the planet inhospitable. A denser atmosphere would trap heat and could make it more like a super-Venus and too hot for life,” said Professor Tinney.

The word itself says it all ……..and yes I’m talking about the one and only Facebook.It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg along with some college students of Harvard college.As for Mark,he made facebook fairly easy,easier than his last name if you ask me.But it’s actually really easy to use,you just have to make an account that’s all it takes to be a social superhero.Now let’s get back to the nerdy stuffs,at first the founders initially limited facebook membership to Harvard students only.Then the membership expanded to the big universities like Ivy League,MIT n all.

After that it became open to all with an age limit though,which no body followed because everybody was able to set their ages as they liked.This then led to the huge success of facebook.Though it was record breaking that it got so many users overnight,but it also increased the possibilities of fake accounts or fake users.

Then came the phase of privacy violations,which led to point finger on one person and than was Mark.The government analysed the patterns and was certain of that facebook was stealing personal data of the users.Which was absolutely correct,because when people are opening an account in facebook they are not reading all the rules that are been given at the first stage,they all are simply agreeing to all the rules and are getting in.So,this was of massive concern.

A rocket named Atlas 5 was launched containing a communication satellite named Advanced Extremely High Frequency(AEHF-6) on Thursday at 4:18 pm. But during the launch time it got delayed by 80 minutes due to some technical issues. After the issue was solved the rocket was launched safely. This space force was introduced by the President of USA, Donald Trump. The US government spend $738 billion for this project. And it is the world first Space force project.

The main agenda behind this is to make a warfare in space. The launching was announced in December 2019. But despite of the COVID-19 Pandemic it has been launched for certain reasons.

Advanced Extremely High Frequency(AEHF-6) is built by Lockheed Martin. It is one of the well known Aircraft production company. Its the last satellite launched. The other 5 satellites were launched between 2010 to 2019. AEHF-6 will head towards the orbit of Earth around 36,000 Kilometers above Earth surface.

Lieutenant General John F Thompson, had explained the reason of why the satellite was launched during the COVID-19 period. He is the commander of the Space Force. He explained the reason of why they launched the satellite. He said that this satellite had cost $1.4 billion. And it is launched so that it can be used for gathering most critical details about our planet so that we can fight against COVID-19. This satellite will also be used for collecting information of survivable communication information for National Leaders and for tactical War fighters operating across ground, sea and air platforms.

Amazon has already started its new project by the name ‘Air Prime’. It aims at employing drones that can deliver packages within 30 minutes or less. They debuted a new, fully electric version of its package delivery drone that says it will start shipping packages to consumers “in a matter of months.”

Amazon executive Jeff Wilke announced at the company’s re:MARS conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday that the drones will be able to fly up to 15 miles and deliver packages under five pounds to customers in less than 30 minutes. That almost eliminates the only single issue that people have had with online shopping. That is the issue of time. Although most deliveries these days do not take more than 2-3 days. In fact, most packages can reach your doorstep within 24 hours of ordering. But Amazon is really stepping up its game by moving towards a drone system that delivers orders within 30 minutes. Estimates by the the company suggest that they can handle between 75% to 90% of all orders.

The hybrid design of these drones means it can take off and land vertically, but also fly horizontally like a plane during the course of delivery. Here’s a closer look:

Since Amazon first announced its plan for a Prime Air delivery service back in 2013, the company says that it has gone through more than two drone dozen designs, none of which was as quiet or able to avoid other aircraft, wires, or people on the ground as well as this one. So for people worrying about their packages crashing into airplanes, wires, people or other drones, Amazon assures there is really little to no chances of that happening.

The FAA tells Forbes that it has given Amazon a one year approval, eligible for renewal, for research and testing, though not for commercial deliveries. Also, this system will most likely be available to people living in North America or Europe first before coming to India or other Asian countries. And that may take a while. But once Amazon manages to take the drones to its international facilitates, we are going to witness a new era to online shopping.

Just when the world is in the middle of an all out catastrophic war with the novel Coronavirus pandemic with thousands of lives being lost everday, here comes another virus outbreak. And no surprise at all, it’s from China again. A report from the Global Times said that a man from the Yunnan province in China died while on a bus. The cause of death was found to be the Hantavirus infection. All people on the bus with him were tested for the virus.

The Centre for Disease Control reported that the virus comes mainly from rodents. There are two forms of the Hantavirus. The ‘New World’ Hantaviruses cause Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS). Other ‘Old World’ Hantaviruses cause Haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). Those infected in China were found to have Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS).

The Coronavirus pandemic has infected nearly 400,000 around the world and killed over 16,500, with no vaccine available yet. At this time, having another deadly outbreak is just beyond comprehension. Especially if it spreads out of China to other parts of the world, like the Coronavirus did. It will be a disaster that mankind, in its billions of years of existence,has never seen before. The consequences of another global pandemic, at a time where the Coronavirus has already caused so much devastation, are unthinkable.

What is Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome?

Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS) is a severe, sometimes fatal, respiratory disease in humans caused by infection with Hantaviruses. “Anyone who comes into contact with body fluids of rodents that carry Hantaviruses is at risk of HPS. Rodent infestation in and around the home remains the primary risk for Hantavirus exposure. Even healthy individuals are at risk for HPS infection if exposed to the virus,” says CDC. Early Hantavirus symptoms include fever, fatigue and muscle aches, especially in the large muscle groups such as hips, thighs, back, and sometimes shoulders. These symptoms are universal.

According to the US’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HPS can be fatal. It has a 38 percent mortality rate, which is far higher than that of the Coronavirus at 3-4%. And what’s worse? There is no specific cure, treatment or vaccine for this virus. Diagnosing HPS in an individual who has only been infected a few days is difficult because early symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, and fatigue are easily confused with influenza.

A double threat of two pandemics could have an aftermath worse than that of any war or epidemic we’ve been through before. In these uncertain times, the best we can do pray we don’t have another global catastrophe amidst the mass chaos we are already in. And hope to have a positive turn of events at some point given the tremendous and resilient efforts of health workers all around the world. They deserve all our appreciation and salutations for risking their lives in the line of duty. Many health workers have died servicing infected patients. Many still continue to serve tirelessly. And we cannot thank them enough for it.
